Hi all. Tough one this. Completely fine with restaurants not wanting or being uncertain with filming. In this scenario here, would you prefer me to keep doing the review (after gaining permission) or review somewhere else?
I used to live in Hull, now I'm in Australia. That's like $150 Aus so imagine the food you could get for that here 😮
To be honest. I've eaten in better pubs. I don't pay money for a name, I pay for the quality of the food.
If it's good quality I'll return. If not it's goodbye amigo.
I've been in hospitality for over 30 years. The fact that he doesn't want to filmed says he is not a professional. The restaurant is empty for a reason.
Food top notch, wary staff as the know you are a blogger… most ppl that eat there are paid for by taxpayers anyway, they dont look at the number… "JUST EAT"🎶 🎵 /the rent and location is phenomenal …not an average taxpayer haunt!! I would never cross that threshold in my hardworking lifetime on my wage … hey ho ..

I like Marco he is well down to earth ,that manager / waiter needs to have a bit of a small chat with Marco,not lose his job NO just go easy mate,if you don't want cameras then say sorry sir no cameras (it is private property and you are of cource allowed to say that ) but people like gary and greeno ,Danny, they give you wonderful advertisement when of course the service and THE food is good! ,have a nive day mate you actually sound a bit Manc like myself
Named restaurants are gone. I dont understand how they provide a meal and pilfer your pocket. I would rather eat at Macca's and eat their crap than be held at ransom by these so called chefs

This is what happens when owners don't stay connected with their restaurants. Marco will be fuming with the poor customer service from a poor customer service experience. First impressions/rapport are what makes an experience in an expensive establishment.
Of all the celeb chefs I've seen over the years Marco always came across as a tosser TBH. I miss Keith Floyd.
That wasn't right at all they're in the restaurant game under one of the biggest names and the service is that hostile? Not good 😐

what are they hiding. the guy at the chinese place was fined with filming he knew his food and value were great. what are they hiding. the savoy and ramsey were fine with filming.

That place,all style no substance,looks as though it could do with all the help it can get..food reviews and food reviewer's,like yourself Gary can make or break a place. Personally I would've took it on the chin and gone somewhere else to review,with that kind of welcome and standard of customer service would've turned me around smartish.
Food look average and a 6.5 score was very generous..
I've eaten at weird restaurants myself, and this one stinks of Mafia ! Like everybody is commenting, i agree, the lack of customers speaks volumes ! The scallops lived up to my expectations !!!! Bacon and black pudding belong on the breakfast menu, not as a dinner starter.

Not everyone sees " food reviewers" as a positive reflection of their product. That has to be respected.
If he doesn't want to be filmed it's probably because he's claiming unemployment benefit. I would have walked out and eaten elsewhere after suffering such rudeness. looks like it will close down soon.
The negative energy really carried through the meal. I'm usually good at guessing your marks at 5he end,but I failed this one. I guessed 7.5 8. That's why service counts.
The manager-"let him film so at least we sold some grub today and might get paid"
