Fast Food Is Literally Not Worth It Anymore

Fast food restaurants used to be a whimsical land of affordable food and fun interiors in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. If you’ve been to a McDonalds, Carl’s Jr., Wendy’s, or Chick Fil A recently, though, you’d see that the golden age of fast food is dead. High prices, shrinkflation, bad ingredient quality, and boring interiors have us all wondering: why do we even get fast food anymore?

  1. Even if the prices weren’t terrible, I’m still incredibly hesitant to eat at almost any restaurant simply because I’m “irrationally” “paranoid” about the health and sanitation of those places. I don’t want to catch giga space aids 2: electric boogaloo because some Karen working the fry station didn’t feel like cleaning up after themselves. By cooking my own food in my own kitchen, I can guarantee everything is properly sterilized.

  2. Went and tried a BK whopper again after they rolled out the new ads that they improved the quality
    Nope…it still sucked

  3. Crazy to think that most of McDonald's in Europe isnt more expensive than in the US despite us using ingredients that are regional/local. Here in Austria the meat and potatoes are from Austria for example.

  4. The fact that we used to have kids birthday parties at McDonald’s in the 90s because of the play place and affordability lmao WATTBA.

  5. Lot of fast food restaurants have become such a ripoff like Burger King with their insane meal prices for a whopper meal like $18, WTF! And not only their menu prices are insane, but their service is very lacking, while smaller restaurants are not only cheaper, but they have better service and management!

  6. I did the experiment from my location in northeast Ohio. If I wanted a buffalo chicken sandwich with fries, it would cost me $12.49 carryout from my local wing place. If I ordered at Arby's, it would run me $9.68. Wendy's comes in at $9.28. It's not a dramatic difference, but notable especially when considering time, planning, and proximity.

If I really want to game my money though, I go to Chipotle. I have a fantastic location 10 minutes from my house that fills my burrito so much they apologize for it not being wrapped all the way. For $8.75, I am full for the rest of the day and eat food that genuinely makes me feel good.

  7. Wendy's bacon cheeseburger is cheap, fast and tasty. Get their biggy bag and an extra soda and two can eat a small meal while on the road. Then have a protein bar.

  8. dont know what chepo blessed land u getting 15 burgers and calling them bougie… cause mid lvl sot down burger be costing 21 minimum

  9. More restaurants offer take out now, for a bit more, but far more worth it if I can show up and just pick up my food rather than wait in line
At this point, it feels more like I'm paying for nostalgia when getting food at In-N-Out or McD
    It's about the Apps though
You get deals through it and makes the trip a little more worth it
    $8 Big Mac combo (+tax)
    Or $1.99 Any size fries
    Seems good to me

  10. 10:34 that's salem oregon!!! I went to that subway it was bad and also that middle eastern restaurant. Its next to a pool place called q ball. And sassy onions. !!!! Omg that's crazy

  11. a new fast food trend is to close the dining area and only take orders through drive through. sometimes I actually want to sit down and have a meal in the depressing interior so I can be more grateful for the rest of my life

  12. They are all rip offs if you get the meals, most of them have like 5 dollar mini meal that normally don't include the drink that are good value and to be honest as i get older that's all i can handle from fast food without feeling like crap haha.

  13. Shout out to the Chinese restaurant who still has a lunch special that's hot, filling and delicious for $8.

  14. im at the point where I avoid getting food in most places. Unless i can get something like Mcdonalds $5 meal. the mchicken, small fries, a drink and 4 chicken nuggets. such a good ass deal

  15. Dear Chon, Thank you for another great video filled with cathartic and critical truth. I'm feeling under the weather today so I don't feel up to commenting much more than that. Oh, I did get to experience those McDonald'ses with the wild decor like those trippy trees and the outdoor playplace saucers and whatnot. It was a great time to be alive. I hope you get to experience that someday, somehow. Sincerely, Jason S

  16. Here in Germany McDonalds got so expensive, its almost cheaper to go to an italian restaurant and order a fresh pizza and a drink
