Guys I love yas but you need to learn your insects. That was clearly a stink bug on the ceiling. Don't put misinformation out there about a small restaurant like this. Also.. you should've just got the filets of fried fish so you didn't have to deal with the bones. I think it freaked you out which made you think it tasted different.

Those were probably canned white beans. Real white beans are called Navy beans. Throw a 1lb bag of dried beans and some smoked turkey wings in a crockpot, cover with chicken broth and cook on high for 6 hours. They are "slap your Mama" delicious!!

Lol, you have never had a whole catfish before? I live about 4 hours south of you in Tupelo, MS and can show you far better places and the fish are sourced locally. The ones you had there are very mushy looking since they are supposed to be cut all the way to the bones so the outside is crispy but still tender inside.
