  1. I dont see why anyone would want those Bluetooth tongs , I would get sick of activating them every single time I grabbed something

  2. About the onion thing, I skip the horizontal cut, but my initial slices into the onion I don't do straight down, I cut as if I'm trying to cut to the core of the onion and that means I don't need to do the horizontal cut and I feel like it prevents the onion flaying as I'm cutting because I'm too lazy to sharpen my knives 😂

  3. What's a good ratio for the kosher salt + MSG blend? I assume the MSG is only a small % of the total but I'm not sure

  4. Do you have a recommendation for a good, but affordable knife to chop vegetables? I am a beginner, and when I've tried with my 1 big knife, it's not easy, and I just avoid chopping vegetables all together.

  5. Hi Kenji, this opened our eyes to how much a rice cooker can do and we are loving it! By chance do you have a race on how to make samosas at home?

  6. when Kenji dragged the food scraper across the knife i felt a tingle through my spine

  7. Bought this rice cooker as a Kenji super fan and tried this recipe and another Korean style one on the Ourplace site. Gotta say I'm a little disappointed in the volume and one pot meal ability of it. I'm sure it's going to be the best rice cooker (only one) I've ever purchased though. Still happy with the purchase but probably won't use it again for stuff like that.

  8. I like foods like this. Chicken and frozen veggies are cheap. This dish is easy to make. Perfect for someone like me who just wants to eat at home and save money.

  9. I lowkey make this all the time but I basically just sub in different spices and veggies and just throw a bunch of random shit into a rice cooker and it usually works.

  10. I dunno why, but I tried this in my Instant Pot and instead of pressurizing and cooking everything nicely it burned all of the rice at the bottom of the pot while keeping the chicken nice and raw. Was able to kind of salvage it by migrating everything to a regular (Zojirushi) rice cooker, but the rice turned out way too mushy and overcooked.

I dunno what I did wrong, but next time I’ll probably sautee everything that needs to be sauteed in a pan and then finish it in the rice cooker and hopefully that’ll get me a better (non-mushy) result.

Shame too, because it otherwise tasted alright.

  11. Thank you, sir! And thank the YouTube algorithm! I've always loved Arroz Con Pollo and wanted to know how to make it for years. I just bought the rice cooker and will be subscribing for more recipes!

  12. The McCormick ground clove from 1976 comment was SO relatable 😂. You and I had to have grown up in the same house, Kenji!

  13. On onions — isn't it safer to do the horizontal cut before the first vertical cuts? it seems like the fanning and flapping of the loosened onion pieces makes it less safe for cutting towards my radial artery …. for years i've been afraid to cut horizontally unless i do that cut firstly
