The ULTIMATE In Eating Local! The Food Is Right Outside!

The venison they use in this pub roams around the parkland outside, they get the crab from Cromer, just a few miles up the road.

This is the ultimate in sourcing and eating local food! And it’s a Michelin Bib Gourmand too, so it shouldn’t be too dear!

  1. What a truly amazing restaurant my friend definitely a top score well deserved. Thank you so much as always for your support. Your tops for sure canโ€™t wait to meet for another beer ๐Ÿบ.

  2. i love rhubarb too Greeno
that gravy even looked descent today
an enjoyable watch over my porrdage this morning
    thank you for the entertainment
btw i watched Gary before -please take care out there mate

  3. Excellent restaurant/pub/hotel it seems too, I looked at the website and their photo of the park in the winter, with the hazy fog, is really spectacular, it's the sort of place you'd think they'd use as B-roll for The Crown or something. But I guess North Norfolk is where Sandringham is. You're lucky you didn't run into a bloke who only rarely goes to Pizza Express!

  4. During the Summer, my neighbour and I take a few trips into the countryside. We love to eat at places that source their ingredients from local farms, on the coast, from local trawlers.
Back in the 70's my dad would always buy live Cromer Crabs. I do prefer a fresh crab over lobster. The white meat is more flaky and has the taste of the sea. The brown meat is more of a creamy texture and we would add some breadcrumbs to give it a bit of a crunchy consistency when making 'dressed crabs'.
Sadly, I do not eat Venison, as I find it to rich for my palate. The same with Pheasant and Hare. But we are all different.
    Another great review.

  5. Hey Greeno. Great review andvthe food looks lush. However i am gonna tell you off again. Where was your vegetable side order ? For balance i really think you shoukd get some veg on the plate. See how the establishment can do side orders. See if they can cook veg.

As good as the food looked. Its was just a bowl of brown food. It needed some fresh greens and carrots on the plate. It needed freshness to balance the richness. All the best. Mike in Chorley.

  6. Greeno that food was absolutely stunning I was drooling at sausage and mash and the starter looked amazing great price for quality of food and stunning location 10/10 here. Youโ€™ve found a gem of a pub there no doubt theyโ€™ll get busier after this review ๐Ÿ˜Š heads up for your comment on Gary eats channel mates looking out for each other you are a top bloke ๐Ÿ˜Š

  7. I am in Norfolk in July think i may try a lunch there. My only complaint would be their mustard choice as that company decided to take the English out of their mustard.

  8. Thanks for the review. The food looks amazing and, like many of your visits, I wish I was there too. Keep up the good work.

  9. Rhubarb is my second favourite fruit after cherries. Iโ€™ve never had a rhubarb cheesecake, Iโ€™m so envious lol. I donโ€™t eat shellfish, but the rest of this meal looks amazing. Glad you enjoyed it Greeno xx

  10. A good review.
I owe you an apology. I've given you a hard time occasionally in the comments and I've been out of order.
My criticism has sometimes been personal when my comments should only have ever been about the review!
After watching someone else's video this morning, my tail is tightly between my legs for being that someone he was talking about.
I am sincerely sorry for being personal and I hope I didn't cause you too much grief!
After watching the other video this morning, I will certainly be considering all the comments I leave on yours and other channels from here on in and again, I hope I didn't cause you to much hurt and distress.
I hope others watch Gary's video and learn that it's not OK to be personal nor rude!
Cheers and all the best! Darren

  11. try growing your own rhubarb. Absolutely wonderful (I was one lucky kid growing up which I only appreciated as I got older as we grew all out own fruit and veg)

  12. Off topic for a sec but even the tiniest, weakest mere hint of even a whiff of English Mustard anywhere makes me want to throw up. I hate that stuff!!
Meanwhile, those venison bangers (I've only had burgers before) sounded top notch ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. I hope I'm wrong, but I think Colman's English Mustard, is no longer made in England.
I happy for someone to fact-check me on this one.

  14. When you said "The food is just outside" I imagined someone just whipping out a rifle after you ordered the food and hunting it down.

  15. Evening Greeno, what a delightful location. Tranquil and peaceful with a beautiful vista to sit and enjoy. The interior art gallery ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ is 'em quite impressive and interesting. Maybe not for granny ๐Ÿ˜‚. Have to say that crab is not one of my favourite crustaceans ๐Ÿฆ€๐Ÿ˜• I'm more than happy with ๐Ÿฆž๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆช however your starter looked fantastic. A fair sized portion. A good fresh, crispy salad garnish. Undressed lemon๐Ÿ‹? C'mon, it's a pub ๐Ÿ˜‚. Homemade mayonnaise โœ”๏ธ great. But now a question. It's related to the great half tomato gate debate. Three quarters of a slice of brown bread ๐Ÿž Who gets the last quarter ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค” Now pub classic bangers and mash. With the now larger choice of the sausages this dish has been elevated to new levels. In my opinion, thought the onion gravy was lacking in onions. Prefer mine like French Onion Soup. Three fabulous sausages and proper mashed potato. A proper old-fashioned dessert. Cheesecake ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿง€ Rhubarb, underrated these days.. The rib of beef sounds tempting (if you're looking for a volunteer to share with……… I'm available ๐Ÿ˜Š) Next time I'm in Norwich visiting my son, we could give it a go.. Just prior to watching you I was checking out Gary's latest. It's a funny old game, as Jimmy Greaves never said. Verbal attacks are inexcusable, but as we said in the playground : " sticks and stones " but it can become dangerous in the real world. So take care and see you in the next video Allan&Family

  16. Wonderful, Greeno! The dishes looked quite delicious. Venison sausages? Hmmmmmm! That Rhubarb cheesecake was to die for. Well done, and thank you for a truly exceptional review. โญโญโญโญโญ

  17. their rooms look amazing too .. I think the artwork you mentioned might be Lillie Langtry and her lover the Prince of Wales
