  1. The reason they looked like that is because regular sugar when heated dissolves and spreads the cookie

  2. "not sure what went wrong" you replaced baking soda and powder…..for yeast and whatever cream of tartar is

  3. Chemistry went wrong that's what went wrong…that's why modified baked goods also have modified steps.
