In this video, I tried some of the lowest-rated restaurants in Paris to see if they really deserve their bad reviews. Each place had a large number of 1-star ratings, so I wanted to visit myself and find out what the experience was actually like.

From tourist-heavy areas to local cafés, I judged each restaurant on food, service, atmosphere, and value to see whether the reviews were justified, or if these places have simply been unfairly targeted online. Are these really the worst restaurants in Paris? Let’s find out.

Places visited:
Iolanda – 105 Quai Jacques Chirac, 75015
Le Champ de Mars – 45 Av. de la Bourdonnais, 75007
Café Bastille – 8 Pl. de la Bastille, 75011
Café Le Dome – 149 Rue Saint-Dominique, 75007

  1. Worst restaurants abroad could be even worse than the UK 🫣

Always be wary of tourist traps on holiday 😂

As the capital it’s expensive like London 🤷‍♀️

  2. I make carbonara, it’s just keeping any eye on it, not that difficult. And I don’t put cream in it. Cats are a bonus!

  3. i have had bad luck with French Onion Soup actually in Paris,, its has been so watery almost like chicken stock,,, yours in this video look better then the ones i have had,,

  4. Im spoiled because when we went to France, many times before my husband died, we mostly ate with the family he had been exchange student from the age of 8. Any restaurants were definitely not on the tourist radar, and were sublime. The selection of wine pairing took the most intense time and heated discusion.

  5. I don't think there is such a measurement in centilitres , all i know is millilitres and litres

  6. Tipping isn’t a thing brother, is something reserved for very good food and service.

  7. Harrison, service is included in the price on the menu. There is no need to leave a tip unless you've had truly exceptional service.

  8. The thing to always remember with visiting places that were reviewed was how long ago. They could have been on a really bad day, they may have turned over the staff causing the issues, they may have revamped their practices. The bad reviews on good places aren't always unwarranted. I've been to places with great reviews, on the basis of those reviews, and had some of the worst meals I've ever eaten out. The two worst were in the last year, and both places had multiple five star reviews.

  9. The worst food I have eaten was in France as part of an all inclusive tour. The tour guide was excellent, but the food was a joke. One roadside restaurant 'Flunch'
..I am not kidding was likely the worst.

  10. The cocktails at these places are expensive. I went to Harry's New York cocktail bar near the Opera, the oldest cocktail bar in the world where lots of classics were invented. I was paying €16 to €18 per cocktail, and these were proper cocktails. No watering down with coke etc

  11. Crazy that such low reviews and they remain in business. They all look like tourist location. Then they can do anything and always get naive customers I guess.

  12. That pizza in the first place will be what's known in the trade as analogue cheese. Nasty, cheap only just about passable as a pizza cheese in the cheapest of venues.

  13. I went to a restaurant in Paris where they made me and my sister each order our own pizza; we weren't allowed to share. 🤦‍♀️
