Regarding asking for the throwaway food at near closing.
That worked so well because most people i've ever worked with in a restaurant/fast food place ALL hate the food waste. We throw a lot of food away daily.
Not really a cheat code, more so just people generally tired of corporate bullcrap lol. If you do it at a place that keeps prepped patties on warmers, probably could get the patties in to go boxes too.(mcdonalds, and braums come to mind)

That free food just as a restaurant is closing works quite often. Downside is you have to be checking at close, they won't do this any other time.
