There are not many fish left in the Mediterranean. They will have to bring it in from the Atlantic. Your best hope is to get some locally farmed fish

I used to live in Spain years ago and close to Benidorm. When we went into Benidorm we used to eat at a place called Yorkshire Pride. I don't know if it's still around but the food there was decent. Most places in Benidorm are shite tho.
that fish looks like it was fished out the sea already dead for 6 weeks…. frozen for another 6 years, then deep fried in engine oil…lol..disgusting.
Not the same fish as in the North Sea. There's no cod nor haddock in the Med. Maybe Dave fried an old octopus!

Danny, when in benners theres only 1 chippy to go to, Rays in the old town, i tried putting my photo of the fish n chips on here but i cant , im sure its the oldest fish and chipper in benidorm and im sure theres 3 of them kicking round, iv only been to the one in the old town, trust me , as Garry would say lets give it a go

Considering Benidorm has (at least) 3 fresh fish markets, there's absolutely no excuse for what you were given there mate. Even the chips looked inedible. The guy should be ashamed of himself for serving it up – but let's be honest, he probably don't give a toss, because Benidorm is just a tourist trap anyway.
The chippy in the old town benidorm is the one to go to proper old school chippy
Kind of serves you or any Brit right for treating benidorm like it's Blackpool. Get some 'local' food down ya neck.
