Learning to cook saves loads of money and the food is far superior in the same amount of time it takes to go for takeout.
If you plan it right even if you're whimsical, you'll have the ingredients you need and will use them all before they expire.
Gone are the days when a gallon of gas was so far under $4.00 🥲ðŸ˜
Haven't been to a fast food place in 2.5 years
Fast food prices are directly proportionate to the minimum wage.
1:06 that shit aint even convinent, the amount of times I order a small ass meal taking full advantage of discounts and points to get a reasonable price. Just to have to complain/argue about the fact Im recieving the wrong size items, not even filled halfway, missing things. Like I order a burger and fry yet Im getting treated like this is a bread table in nazi germany
This is so dystopian
I don't understand why anybody eats at McDonald's
14:50 that type of beverage was a huge success for Dunkin’
man fuck McDonalds and fuck Digital everything.
My local 5 guys sells the double bacon cheeseburger with a small fry for $22 USD, an absolutely insane amount of money. I know theyre like "nice" fast food but still. The crazy part is an actual local local restaurant sells the same burger and fries (same amount of meat, bacon and fries, etc) for LESS MONEY. And this place is a decent sit down restaurant, with nice steaks and a fancy bar and all that. The burger is way higher quality too, cooked to a temp of your choice hand formed beef patty, lovely thick cut smoked bacon, fresh vegetables, the whole deal. 5 guys is not even really faster since I order ahead in both cases and I always have to wait in the 5 guys when I get there anyway. I know that rising costs CANT be an excuse, cause this local restaurant has more employees with higher expectations, more expensive ingredients, a bigger building and more land, AND STILL has less throughput than that 5 guys. If it's not gouging it's incompetence. Maybe my local restaurant doesnt make money, but google maps shows them as having been around since at least 2008 so theyre doing something right.
Why do they keep saying stimulus checks like they sent everybody $600 one time it’s the big businesses that are ripping off the government with the PPP loans
Haven’t eaten McDonald’s in months! Partially due to seeing the video where the CEO spat it into a napkin and wouldn’t swallow it, partially due to the prices. Never turning back
McDonalds is the place I go to when I'm returning on vacation because you know they'll be open and offering some form of food. easy to find too
but I wouldn't go to them if I planned my dinner ahead of time
They want to poison us and charge us for it…
The video explains that California wage laws and Pandemic measure destruction destruction of the labor pool and Congress/Washington's inflation are why fast food prices have gotten out of hand. (some effect from meat prices)
Then 90% of the video doesn't tell you ONE SINGLE THING about why prices have exploded, talking about "smart tech tricking you into spending more" and such nonsense. Nonsense. Watch the first 2:20 and click on "Next video".
AI slop
Why aare you bluring kids but not adults feels icky
Corporate greed. I just saved you 19 minutes
McDonald's in the U.S. costs about twice as much as in the Nordic countries. Does that mean workers in the U.S. get paid about twice as much and get roughly twice the benefits as well?
I havent personally noticed, I havent had fast food in over 10 years
What a dumb video
Capitalism ruins everything
So, why is it more expensive then? The title didn't really get answered in the video…
This video left me dissatisfied. It is just about them using quasi-predatory means to increase the value they get out of the constumer. However, it does not answer the title. If they increase margins through these methods, would they not be capable of lowering prices for their budget items to sieze market share?
You see the non-sequitur in this "Why did fast food get so expensive? Well, the fast food resturants are pursuing efficiency instead of quality and that increases prices somehow." Did I just not pay enough attention? This is strange.
I stopped eating at McDonald's due to price, health and since they got the kiosks the service is almost nonexistent.
Also it didn't help that the CEO won't eat the product. I stopped eating it when I seen the story of someone leaving their food out for a year and it still looked the same.
restaurants are really competitive. any price changes across the board is from bottlenecks in supply chain, or inflation. Or government policy. No such thing as corporate greed here as it's not a monopoly or close to one. People will just switch
Not sure if the video fully answered the title.
5:14 Stock Footage from Pre Covid ?
don't eat fast food fellas
I didnt went to mcdonalds for maybe 15 years.
Often, passing by, I look at the prices. Given how bad their food was (presumably is again today), and given for the same price of a menu, I make glorious meals for multiple days, the answer is easy: junk food that dont fill up for more than 2 hours is a bad choice.
Also, health.
Also, I hate megacorps.
HE SAID CCCORE!!!!
