History of Paella

@rosettastone

Paella’s history goes back hundreds of years. 🇪🇸 This national dish wouldn’t exist without the Romans first bringing irrigation to Spain, which enabled farming to become a lot easier. When the Moors later brought rice over, fields flourished with this crop. The Moors also brought over saffron which is another essential paella ingredient that gives it its yellow color. 🌾 Today, paella is made in every region of Spain, using just about any ingredient that goes well with rice. 🥘 Have you had paella before? What’s your favorite kind of paella? ⬇️ #spanishcuisine #spanishfood #foodie #foodlover #foodtiktok #spaintiktok #valenciaspain #spaintravel

Salmorejo How To

@cookingwithuri

Salmorejo (from Córdoba): tomatoes, day-old bread, garlic, extra virgin olive oil, blended until silky. Served cold with hard-boiled egg and jamón. No cooking, just pure summer flavor. Save this for tomato season 🍅 #spanishfood #salmorejo #gazpacho #tomato #nocook

Fideuà

@laus_scullery

Fideua 🦐🦐 A simple, comforting Mediterranean fideuá made with just a few ingredients. Golden pasta, tender cuttlefish, and juicy shrimp – all cooked in one pan. Ingredients: 250 g fideuá pasta • 700 ml fish or seafood broth • 8 shrimp • 4 small cuttlefish • 4 garlic cloves • Olive oil • Salt (to taste) How to: 1. Finely chop the garlic. Clean the cuttlefish and cut them into small squares. 2. Heat a pan with a little olive oil. Sear the shrimp for about 2 minutes per side, then remove and set aside. 3. In the same pan, cook the cuttlefish for about 3 minutes, then remove and set aside. 4. Add a bit more olive oil if needed, then add the garlic and the pasta. Toast until the pasta is golden and fragrant. 5. Add the cuttlefish back to the pan, pour in the hot broth, season lightly with salt, and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, until the pasta is cooked. 6. Add the shrimp back in for the last couple of minutes. 7. Remove from the heat and serve straight from the pan. #home #foodie #recipe #spanish #fideua

  1. Thanks so much. My Grandfather was from Spain. Now I want to go see what else I could eat from there.

  2. ¿Por qué ponen de fondo música mejicana? 😂😂😂😂😂 vaya chocho tienen

  3. Després els americans es riuen de nosaltres si pronunciem una paraula malament 🙁 paeLLa not paeya wtf

  4. "payeya" "socolat". Fideuà is not french. Paella is NOT the most common lunch, it takes too long for it to be worth it, most I've heard of is once a week. Churros aren't really a dessert, more of a snack you get if you see a place around.

  5. All good things giggle jajajajajaja bro they are the best non-spanish people eating spanish food I've ever seen jajajaja the moment I can I would invite u all here to eat, omg!

  6. Everything about this video it's sooooooooooo american…thats not real spanish food, thats highly inaccurate info.

  7. Ignore the useless comments! There are a few small differences in some of the dishes, but that’s completely normal, everyone cooks a little differently. The essence of the meals is still there. Sooo glad you loved the cuisine, it’s amazing! 😍

  8. Watching an American say "paello" is so funny to me because in Spain we always say "pa' el"(for him) as a corny pun in response to paella(for her)

  9. I'm Basque!! Thank You for saying Gildas and pintxos are from here. Not many people internationally know about our culture! 😢❤

  10. Next time, give them the churros after having a party and being hungover, that's where churro's true flavour pops.

  11. 7:14 😱 qué es eso?! Paella desde luego que no.
    10:53 cilantro? 🤦🏼

  12. Hey, nice, again 0 Catalan dishes in the video. Catalans do you see one of the reasons why we must get our land out of Spain? Cultural ERASURE…

  13. My god These is so bad!! At least try to do some research or talk to someone from the country you're talking about! Everything in this video is so wrong; it's unacceptable that you can't find any real information.
