🎬 40 Years Of Rural Karnataka Hospitality: Ragi Mudde & Upsaaru Meals At Sri Durga Mess
Enroute to Kabini, tucked away in the HD Kote region, is a small village eatery that has been keeping a beautiful culinary tradition alive for four decades. For forty years, Mr. Bhaskar and his wife, Mrs. Rajeshwari, have opened an extension of their home to travellers. There are no menus or grand promises here—just four tables and a daily commitment to wholesome food. It is a rare glimpse into authentic, unhurried rural hospitality. Come along as we stop for an honest, home-cooked meal on the road.
Operating straight out of Sri Durga Veg Mess, this incredible couple does everything themselves—they cook, serve, clean, and welcome every guest like family. The fare is simple but profoundly nourishing: steaming ragi mudde meals and soft chapatis, served alongside traditional upsaaru, basaaru, fresh local vegetable preparations, spicy condiments, crunchy sandige, and a soothing glass of cooling buttermilk. If you value truth in food and the warmth of genuine hospitality, this quiet highway stop is a just visit.

What a beautiful vlog…This is how all food vlogs should look like. Lots of love to the couple who run it for last 40 years !!
They would barely eek a living with 40 meals per day …..considering all the expense of the materials and the hard work involved, especially preparing the ragi mudde. So like Kripal mentioned at the beginning their youth is the blessing of the Seva they provide to their customers.
Wonderful sir, we too appreciate such vlogs.
Eager to visit
Sir, Usha this side, Bhaskar’s daughter.
I am so happy to see you at my house.
My parents didn’t know about you. Only yesterday I came here, and they said someone had come and made a video of the hotel. I was like, “Okay, some YouTuber came.”
Later, one of my friends shared the video link with me. After watching the video, I felt so, so happy. Thank you so much for your support, Sir. With out any affection
But i missed the chance to meet you sir 😢
An hour back had my dinner.. watching this video makes me hungry again.😊
❤❤❤
Simple, tasty, wholesome and nutritious food served in a clean environment by people who personify quiet dignity and awesome work ethic. It is not just what one does but how one does it. Thank you for this little sunshine of an episode. I think you too truly enjoyed shooting this vlog.
His Smile is so Wholesome ❤
As a long-time fan since before Appu featured, I recently took a break because the content felt a bit monotonous. However, today’s episode completely reminded me why I fell in love with Kripal’s storytelling in the first place. His unique ability to uncover hidden gems, bring them into the spotlight, and most importantly support the local family businesses is what sets him apart in the crowded food vlogging industry. Phenomenal work, Kripal and the FoodLovers team! I hope to see more of this standout content ❤👍
Guys trust me this is Heavenly food
His smile is absolutely genuine ❤
Beautiful… I am going there. ❤

The title says it all!!! 40 years of feeding strangers I wonder if any of those "strangers" were like family at all? Kripal Amana Sir, Kudos!!!! I need to venture to these spots you & Kunal Vijaykar seek out, seriously!!! 😎
Kudos to covering a humble food story far away from the city..
Sir we all missed your videos, there was a big gap. I hope you are well. Keep posting these amazing videos.
Kripal sir do visit places like this more often so that they're are encouraged and benefited i will visit it's in n my next immediate visit ok list… Thanks
Motivate to the small business
Ideas u r encouragement super sir
I don't knw what u mean by don't expect extraordinary???
This is an amazing meal. If ur non-veg replace bassaru with chicken sambhar thn u have a complete meal with protein, fibre, carbs rich meal without the gimmicks of too much oil, masala, long old basnati rice, MSG, B Soda nonsense.
For centuries our ancestors ate only this everyday and nt biriyani nonsense that ppl are so addicted to. This doesn't just end with biriyani but kabab, north indian thick curry based items where veggies have lost the nutrients frm over cooking.
Promote our age old recipes. It has bcme rare in cities where ppl chase dreams, eating junk.
Can someone share the location and if we have to book in advance
Kudos to food lover team
Nothing can match the rooted authentic test from rural India. Oh i love this, is the signature.

There was great personality called Dokka Seethamma garu in our Andhrapradesh during british fed who used to feed 1000 people everyday with her own money..and now our government has made Dokka seethamma canteens to feed people at lowest rates..hope this scheme gets applied through out the country by central government..already ISCKON is also feeding people..free of cost through it's wing Akshayapathra..but lot needs to be done at central government level to quench the hunger of poor people..thankyou🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

the smile on his face is the usp i think so…
Eat only this type of native food, only 2 meals a day, live in nature, people will live longer. He looks so young because of that simplicity.
70Rs uta, Immense satisfaction…
