75-Year-Old Secret Home Palav In Mysuru | Ajji Palav, Nazarbad πŸ‘΅πŸ›

Tucked deep within the quiet bylanes of Nazarbad in Mysuru lies a culinary legacy that has quietly thrived for over 75 years. This is the story of Ajji Palav, a secret home-style tradition that began in the kitchen of Mrs. Nagamma and is carried forward today by three generations of her family. 🏠✨

In this episode of Gourmet On The Road, we climb the stairs of a modest home to experience a rare kind of dining. Here, footwear is removed at the door, and diners sit communally on the floor or on simple stools, waiting for leaf plates (patravalis) to be filled with comforting, aromatic food. πŸƒπŸ‘£

We meet the soft-spoken Mrs. Saraswathy, the family matriarch who has been cooking here for over 50 years. Aided by her son Ramesh and grandson Nitin, she serves up a limited but deeply satisfying menu of chicken palav, mutton palav, simple homestyle chicken chops in green masala, and a rich khaima curry. This isn’t commercial biryani; it is the pure soul of a home-cooked meal that few outsiders know about. πŸ—πŸŒΎ

Join us as we taste the history, texture, and quiet dedication behind Mysuru’s ultimate hidden home kitchen. πŸ₯„πŸ‘΅
