  1. As soon as you brought in that rug, the room lit up. I also love how the table looks soo much more elevated and charming in the new context it exists in. The fact that you go into the store and hunt for missing colors and textures without ignoring the existing black furniture is so budget consious. I wonder if you did something to the office corner. Out of all of the spots in the room it seems like the hardest to blend in and beautify. Soo excited to see the rest of the house.

  2. What a wonderful transformation! I really appreciate how you laid out the steps so clearly in this video. Well done Maria!

  3. The whole apartment looks wonderful! You can make ANY place look great! I would recommend Howard's Restor-a-Finish for that dining room table, and then follow up with Howard's Feed-n-Wax. It won't make it look perfect and will keep the scratches/names intact but will even out the finish nicely. You don't have to get rid of it when you can fix it up! I can't wait to see the rest of their home decorated.

  4. ..i was hoping to see the Rug being Repkaced …the one chosen looks so much better .. But I think the Windsor Chairs dont really " go with " the other Chairs …it looks like a Mis- match ,just IMHO. I like the Idea of other chairs, For with the two Windsor chairs , but I don't think those are the right ones. ..they look too short ( the backs on them) and look too modern. I did not care for thise Lamps, too modern…and much too tall. ..looks off balance.

  5. I just downsized and moved. . . After 30 years. Family heirlooms, pieces bought through out the years. I went from a 100 year old 2 stiry with basement craftman cottage to a 1967 one level ranch. Gave the working 1920s family player piano and 300 piano rolls to my sister. After that went I felt a HUGE release of anxiety and peace and lightness. Then the rest was easy to let go. My neighbor kids were leaving the nest or moving out if college dorms. So passed on dishes, pots, pans, casserole containers, vases, glassware, crystal if they wanted. What I didn't want and they didn't want went to goodwill and charities.

In my new home I have an eclectic or now they say traditional heritage style of new old and antique.

I used your color wheel to help with paint. It's coming together.

Thank you for how you help us with switching up instead of tossing and how just a change in dining chairs and accessoriescan help. Can hardly wait until next week.

  6. If Marcy wants to de-emphasize the wear and tear on the dining table, simply filling/tracing the carved names and initials, broken edges, etc with furniture stain markers (felt tip markers that come in a variety of stain colors) would work wonders. My husband uses a walker and the furniture legs in some areas get knocked into often — but a few swipes with the stain markers really minimize the beat-up look.
