alone in italy | dining solo, working remotely & enjoying my own company

hallo lovely people 🤍 come spend a week with me in florence, italy where I worked my normal 9-5 remotely while taking myself on a little solo trip. this week was all about slowing down, working from beautiful cafés, exploring the city, vintage shopping, eating lots of good food and getting a little more comfortable dining alone. if you’ve been thinking about booking a solo trip, let this be your sign. hope you enjoy x

  1. "If I can do it, you can do it." What I needed to hear! I always get anxious when going on holiday, no matter whether it is a solo trip or not, not knowing the local language makes me feel weird. You were brave <3

  2. Such a lovely vlog Johanna and really inspirational. I’m terrible for just staying in my comfort zone and not pushing myself that little bit! Looks like you had an amazing time. Always love it when you upload 😊

  3. The best thing about Florence is everything ❤ but you get to see Duomo everywhere you go ❤❤ I went this year and honestly fell in love the city. Don’t know where you stay but Trattoria Cessarino is the best for food 😊

  4. I've been to Italy multiple times by myself and have met some great people while there. Also discovered some cousins on my mom's side near Perugia a few years back! Happy to see someone else truly enjoy all Italy has to offer. ☺

  5. I can never understand people who think they can get everything they need from a city in just one day of visiting! I also agree that slow travel is the way to go.

  6. Fantastic vlog Johanna! I was thrilled to get such a wonderful preview of Florence as we plan to go there next year. I think it’s so great to enjoy travel with company or solo. You might as well take full advantage of the perks of your job. It’s lovely to hear of the kindness of strangers treating you to your meal, you obviously made a good impression! 😊💛

  7. I fully agree on the slow travelling part! For me, running through a city for just 1-2 days doesn't even feel like a holiday, but stresses me out haha

    lovely video as always!

  8. Wonderful video Johanna! Well done you! I have never undertaken a solo trip but I keep thinking about it! I’m still trying to find the courage but you are inspiring me! I love how honest you are! Florence looks fabulous! 😃

  9. I’m like you with slow travel, it’s the best, especially if you’re working at the same time too! Well done coping with the extreme heat and I loved the story of the dinner with the 3 elderly men 💖

  10. Turkish girl here! If you want to buy some lace for your veil, just go to Turkey 🤣 Seriously, taking a flight and just popping into a fabric store would be cheaper that 300€pm. I can give you some directions for the fabric stores in İstanbul
