Police investigating the death of former Tory minister Ann Widdecombe have released a 26-year-old man who had been arrested on suspicion of murder and say he is no longer part of the inquiry. The 78-year-old was found with serious injuries at her Devon home, but detectives have stressed there is currently no evidence of a terrorist or political motive. Officers are continuing house-to-house inquiries and reviewing footage as they search for answers, while politicians and friends pay tribute to one of Britain’s most outspoken public figures.

No political motive? Lets analyse the facts shall we? Nigel is harassed over the donation then suddenly AW (RIP) ia attacked, lets be clear here….This is no doubt an individual that has been allowed to come over without a single form of judiligence, he/she has been allowed to roam free to get close to her and in the middle of the day within 15 minutes attacked her and ended her life.
The time frame has been given the attacker had just 15 minutes between checks then calls were made to investigate, that means the perpetrator had a plan..it was premeditated…and it was calculated….he did what he did and then he escaped!!! all of that in 15 minutes.
This is CK (RIP) all over again, some deluded individual ends a sweet ladies life just because he cannot handle opposing political views….this is bloody ridiculous…Liebour and Tories need to answer for their involvement in this, this WOULD NOT happen if you controllled your fking borders.

No Rafe I respected Ann for her sticking to her principles despite what everyone thought of them. I agreed with some, but didn't others. Two MPs were murderered when carrying out their duties as MPs, the difference is that Ann has been murderered in her own home! How the police can state yesterday that it "wasn't political or terrorism" when they arrested a suspect which has turned out to be totally false! So instead of "open mind" policing they blocked two obvious reasons! No wonder Peter Bleksley did research on how the Devon & Cornwall Police Force has been over the last 6 years and the result shows that this Force has been farcical for years!
I'd say look at the local pawn shops, it might have been a burglary gone wrong but he still snatched one or two items that no one has noticed. Burglars don't like conflict and he would have ran after the attack, but may have grabbed one item. If it was a burglar he's probably on Dr*gs.

Don't usually watch this can't stand her shrieking. But Rafe is always worth listening to.
I fear that Anns` killer will never face justice.The Devon and Cornwall police are absolutely corrupt to the core and not fit for purpose. Last month ..June of 2026 a report published by his majesty's police inspectorate rated Devon and Cornwall constabulary as completely in adequate. Another damning fact is that their performance was so abysmal from October 2022 right up to July 2025 this police force was in `special measures ` for over two and a half years.That is a scandal and there is no wonder that this investigation has been so unprofessional from the outset..and this sht show is only set to get worse.
I am Irish and absolutely loved Anne I remember many years ago seeing her being interviewed about Maggie Thatcher and she said "she could work until 3.00 in the morning and look as if she had just walked out of a beauty salon I on the other hand can walk out of a beauty salon looking as if I had worked to 3.00 am." Her sense of humour was absolutely brilliant. Such a tragedy she will be greatly missed. R.I.P. Anne ❤❤❤
