Those are the kind of places that give a city character. The city should be doing everything possible to help preserve that place.

Congratulations to Mr. Scott and his family. Overcoming the obstacles created by neighbors and the city is probably why it took 10 years instead of 2 years to complete this labor of love. San Franciscans all owe him a debt of gratitude for saving this piece of the city's history.

Renovation? Uh oh, the crats will be upset at this. We are going to need this story to drag on for atleast another year.
I ate there back in the 1980's on a corporate expense account and was not impressed! It was mainly an expensive bar. It took hours to get a small simple meal and I stopped at a McDonalds on the way home because I was starving hungry. Never again! That taught me to eat before you go to corporate entertaining. Then you can just move the teeny bits of food around on the plate and make small talk for 3 hours in comfort.

'Back-In-The-Day' when everybody smoked, when you made a reservation you would arrive at your table and there would be several small boxes of matches with your printed name on them!

😕 I’m usually excited when people are preserving historical architecture — but just to inject a note of reality here: this building looks like charmless and tacky warmed-over poop.

What a great story, I can only imagine how challenging it was to bring this project to fruition. Even doing a kitchen remodel can be a nightmare. Glad to hear this is another community opportunity to enjoy. 🎉
