Never tried Popeyes but already know they're better than KFQ (Kentucky Fried Quail) because there's no way they could be worse. KFQ somehow manage to serve up smaller and smaller pieces with each passing year; I'm convinced they use quails. And their food is also dry and extremely salty. I have no idea how they are still in business because their food is utter crap. Customers must have very low standards. Popeyes may not be perfect, but between these two, I'm choosing Popeyes every time and it's not even close.
As for KFQ swapping out your fries when they recognised you, well, that's not cool at all. Influencers always get special treatment, whereas normal folk get shafted. Always has been and always will be. Shameful of them to do that. Good on you for calling them out.

Tried Popeyes twice, both times found the coating to be tasteless compared to KFC etc, and super oily
I had a KFC the other day , it doesn’t have the same 11 herbs and spices taste remember from years ago.

Noticed a few times the KFC Chibken meat is dry as well as the Skin , it used to be a nice moist juicey skin , not any more
Popeyes is much better than KFC, KFC gave up being good years ago
TBH after watching both, Popeyes looked to be better value and better prepared, cooked & served. As both are franchises, they are only as good as the staff can be bothered to be. That's why I always endeavour to support sole traders where possible. Nowt against you Gary, just my 2p worth!

Popeyes is so far superior to KFC it's a joke. KFC lost it when they were bought out by a financial company who changed their name from Kentucky Fried Chicken to KFC because they didn't like the word Fried in the name. WTF! And the mashed and gravy at Popeyes and the biscuits are great. You didn't try them.
Tried Popeyes (UK one) for the first time not long ago. I thought the exact same thing about the gravy. Tasted like how BO smells. Feel validated now that Danny said the same thing xD
