probably an unpopular opinion but I actually love your rooms with exposed HVAC because it's very old/new juxtaposition. also makes them very accessible, haha. like, no one thinks craftsman homes had central air conditioning. giving them a paint job, you honestly don't really notice them unless you're actively staring at them. so much better than a drop-ceiling that we have in the older homes in my area.
