RECIPE — Macaroni Salad
Ingredients:
• 12 oz elbow macaroni, cooked and cooled
• Celery, thinly sliced
• Red onion, diced
• Red bell pepper, diced
• Green onion, sliced
• Sweet relish (to taste)
• 1 cup mayo
• 1/2 cup sour cream
• 1 tbsp dijon mustard
• 1 tbsp sugar
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• 1 tbsp pickle juice
• 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
• Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain, rinse with cold water and cool completely.
2. In a large bowl whisk together mayo, sour cream, dijon mustard, sugar, garlic, pickle juice and red wine vinegar until
smooth.
3. Add cooled macaroni, celery, red onion, red bell pepper, green onion and sweet relish to the dressing.
4. Toss everything together until evenly coated.
5. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
6. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving. Stir before serving and add a splash more mayo if needed.
Tips:
★ The pickle juice and red wine vinegar are what make this dressing different — don’t skip them.
★ Make this the day before if you can — it gets better overnight.
★ Rinse pasta with cold water so it doesn’t absorb all the dressing before the other ingredients go in.

What would you do differently?? This is the perfect, classic macaroni salad!
you forgot the tuna fish and ranch dressing other then that it's my mac salad oh and Worcestershire sauce
yes egg also
Ham and boiled eggs are good in it too
My g-ma always adds sugar and a tad of balsamic vinegar. Plus adds boiled eggs for garnishment💥 Her spaghetti sauce a pinch of sugar. Midwest classic summer salads. Obtw…what a treat to get veggies from her garden. Tomatoes from heaven. Luv ya guys🇺🇸💙☮️
I love Fred❤ I wonder if he got her those flowers, they seem very devoted.
It's counter slappin good!!😋
Yummy! I love the little bowl! It's adorable!😋❤
Add shrimp.
I made this and added sharp cheddar cheese. I used Hellman's Light Mayo. It is so good. I have to let it chill now.
Ah just the macaroni some cooked hard eggs diced, lots of miracle whip, salt and pepper for us here. ❤
Suggestion: 1T of soy sauce or Braggs Amino Acid.

Wow are you hungry or what ???
Definitely a classic. I love making mac salad like this with popcorn fried chicken, egg, celery and red onion.
Love your videos!
You left a lot of veggies in the prep bowls. Geez!
But is it really macaroni salad without eggs, cucumbers, and tomatoes? 🤔
Please don’t talk with food in your mouth.
Take a sip every time she says FRED 😂
Your mixing bowls should be 2x the size of the food your mixing. So much easier.
I like using the little macaroni Ditalinie. I think that’s how to spell it. I don’t like elbow macaroni. but I’m gonna try yours with my pasta
Very similar to mine growing up but with the hard boiled eggs!
Sprinkle of paprika for decoration
I grew up making this pasta salad with my mom almost exactly the same way. The only other addition we add is cubed cheddar cheese.
Artery clogger!
Fred Fred Frederick Right Fred I need a drink of water
I use some boiled eggs!
This woman only seems to find that Southern tone when saying 'all right' and by saying the word 'yall'. Im Virgina and NC. I know a fake twang when I hear it, all rite.
Is his name Fred 😂
Nobody cried lol
No sugar or sweet relish ever in mine.
That looks GOOD!
Looks
Great but I would add hard boiled eggs to it.
Iwould leave out relish and red onion and add chopped hard-boiled egg.
Why are you yelling
Our only macaroni salad is cooked macaroni, then a little olive oil & chopped green ions, chopped radish, cubed orange cheddar (my husband prefers a mild cheese) cubed cooked ham & about a cup of cooked chilled kernel corn. I season to taste with salt, pepper, chopped dill and a little smoked paprika. Then add mayonnaise to make it nice and creamy. I don’t measure, I’ve been making it for over 40 years, so to anyone that makes this, taste as you go, make it to your taste.
I usually do at least 3 times in volume for what you made, I bag it without the mayonnaise, and our 2 adult children swing over and get a bag each to take home. Then we do about 1/2 a bag with mayo at a time, it lasts longer if something comes up and you’re not home. You can make it on Sunday but have the second half fresh with mayonnaise on Wednesday, so it will keep longer in the fridge. One time I had no game, my daughter took one look and said she’d be stopping at the store for ham on the way home, she was not going to eat peasant salad.
Everyone has always loved and complimented my macaroni salad, it’s sounds like yours is loved just as much. Summer comfort foods ❤️
Who is this video for? A little too much Fred. Seems like you don't really need the rest of us.
Perfect macaroni salad. I just have to leave out the peppers because I like them, but they don’t like me. I’m with Fred and his choice of mayonnaise. I’m going to make this. It looks delicious.
Is her husband s name Fred🤣🤣🤣

Some people add a little shredded carrots 🥕. So good. 😊

Yes, its classic. I made this on the 4th and it was gone in a New York minute.
Add chopped ham and shredded cheese and real bacon bits!!
No eggs? Too much onion and sugar is a Nono.
Add diced chicken in it and cucumber and tomato. You will love it.
