Must be terrific to have such loverly timber to cook with. Did all of my bush cooking in the hot, dry part of northern Australia, serious termite country, so all the wood was effectively hollow and powdery and you had to rely on flames only with little chance of ever creating embers.
Mind you, it made for a delightful evening afterwards with a flaming campfire, guitar, song and lots of beer.
