A family of seven is being spotlighted on social media, literally, after a video allegedly showed them leaving a restaurant without paying. In a clip being shared by X user @CrystalHope1979, they captioned it, “Dine & Dash strikes AGAIN in Orlando!”

  1. Sadly no matter what anyone does it will be called something, because somebody wants something for free. I am 100% on board with having a door to get in, a space to prepay, and then another door to go through that is locked until you pay. It is about the only way to deal with dine and dash assholes that I can think of. As for an exit, have two separate doors that only allow for one set of doors to open if the other set is closed. Video monitoring at all times and I am also 100% on board with the staff being armed.

  2. Call it the Keith Kidd Clause. Sorry but we're going to have to implement the Keith Kidd Clause and get a credit/debit card on deposit before you order.

  3. 6:00 Where I live they do just that in small Mom & Pops Food Stands: Pay First Then You Get The Food You Ordered. Charging upfront here is very common and I can't believe it's not everywhere else.

  4. My local Mexican place owner was talking to one of his servers about groups of these people and how to write up tickets because not all of them would get cashed out.

They are being judged on the content of their character.

  5. I Agree pay up front, this is why businesses go out of business, stealing effects other people. PAY YOUR BILL.💲💲💲

  6. They’re gonna have you open a tab just like if you go to a bar. Before you get a seat, they will request a card for them to swipe into their system so they can serve you. Done.

  7. I’ve worked in an expensive steak restaurant and I can’t tell you how common this is. They’ll also not tip or eat the food and say ‘I didn’t like it’ and say they won’t pay the bill. The server is on the hook for the money AND has to pay even more as they’re responsible for a percentage of their sales to tip out other staff like the bartender, cook, busboy, and dishwasher. It got to the point where management would space out how the server was sat by race. Sounds racist? You bet, but it’s always this type and no one else.

  8. People need to start speaking the truth and stop calling others racists for speaking up the blacks are the only ones doing this, period call them out plainly and who ever doesn’t like it can K M A

  9. I guess you probably should have had them arrested don't you think? Your employees were watching them walk straight out shaking their heads and not doing anything. Call the police, get them arrested, stop complaining. If you're not going to do the police calling, nothing's going to happen. Your employees let them go. Dumb🤯💥

  10. Stereotypes are earned, not arbitrarily given. Profiling can save your life or prevent your business from being robbed/ destroyed/ defrauded etc… Pattern recognition, like facts and statistics, isn’t racist!

  11. They think they’re slick doing the staggered leaving like the end of Oceans 11 at the Venetian fountain

  12. I remember when racial profiling or carding brought down gun violence by at least 50% for some years until it was deemed racist, now it only gets worse year by year

  13. More restaurants need to do this. I would absolutely post their photo at the entrance of the restaurant as well just so the servers/waiters can notice them. Basically have a wall of shame for the Dine and Dashers lol

  14. It’s like the airplane shoe bomber. One guy tries to blow up a plane with a bomb in his shoe and for decades, everyone has to take their shoes off in airport security. Is paying for your food before you get it really that big of a deal? I get it’s not fast food, yo add on more drinks etc. at a regular restaurant. But putting a card down like an open tab would be reasonable.

  15. I don't have a problem with an 'order and pay up front' style restaurant. Almost all of your buffet chains do that….

  16. All these are great ideas but I would rather see more creative ways to hit these people where it hurts, such as this identify-and-shame technique. Hopefully this would include blacklisting them. It's sad that it's come to this but it can be stomped out with a little bit of effort.

  17. Have a window take their order n money and then they sit n food is brought to you… so sad who thinks like this!?

  18. Jail is what they deserve… I could imagine how many times they done this, I would put a 500 hold on there card… I’m not FINNA get burned. Did I use FINNA properly???

  19. Idk though. Those that mean tip would be paid in advance? What incentive to be a good server is there then?

  20. If this trend continues restaurants will be the same as the fast food experience. Paying before you pig out on the food. What a shame this is for the people who don’t act like this. This is why you pay for your gas before you pump it because of thieves like this. It used to not be a thing a few bad actors ruined it for the rest of us.

  21. Ban that particular demographic and you will gain business from others. Many people, black, white and otherwise don't want to be around them.

  22. I dined and dashed one time when i was 15 with a group of my friends. I can't imagine doing that as an adult. What a bunch of low lives.
