Restaurants Are Empty EVERYWHERE — Here’s Why

Restaurant prices have climbed dramatically, and customers are starting to push back.

What used to be an affordable meal out can now come with higher menu prices, extra fees, expensive drinks, and a tip screen before you even leave. For some Americans, eating at restaurants simply doesn’t feel worth the cost anymore.

Now, some restaurants are dealing with a different problem: customers cutting back, eating at home, choosing cheaper alternatives, or skipping restaurants altogether.

But restaurants have their own explanation. Food, labor, rent, insurance, and other operating expenses have also increased, leaving businesses caught between raising prices and potentially driving customers away.

In this video, we look at why restaurant prices have gotten so expensive, why customers are changing their spending habits, and whether the industry has finally reached a breaking point.

I don’t think the restaurant industry is dying because people don’t want to eat out. I think it’s struggling because the business model is broken. Low margins, rising costs, staffing issues, and wages that drive talented people away. I love restaurants, which is exactly why I think we need to start having honest conversations about how to save them.

  1. We never go to restaurants. The food quality is not great for the money you have to pay. Eat far better and healthy at home. 🤷‍♂️🫨😖💸

  2. Not in my town on Long Island. Restaurants and other unnecessary stores are very busy Why I couldn't tell you

  3. $1800 for a restaurant meal ! Australia – nine people cost me AUD $365 including drinks! At a Chinese Restaurant! Yanks – getting ripped off!

  4. I just watched a video comparing the cost of things as opposed to income during the great depression. We ARE in a bigger depression according to the facts google gives us.

  5. I like going out to restaurants. I enjoy being with people. I enjoy being with family.

I have to use a walker because of arthritis and pain but it's a positive chance to get out

  6. Restaurants in Nashville were packed when I've visited and Restaurants in Chicago are always nice and busy. Varieties and diversity in both cities.

  7. The texas road house where i live gets slammed all weekend. But its so much better than all the other sub par places with overpriced garbage. So it makes sense why its so popular.

  8. capitalism is showcased in the monopoly game…….where in the end all money flows in one direction until its all in the hands of the winner….its just that in real life its played out much longer so we just call it the economy.

  9. Did i hear the first lady correctly when she says she pays $1800 to go to a restaurant????🤨🤔🤔 likw wtf… someones got more money than sense 🙄🤔

  10. WE CANT FUCKING AFFORD TO EAT OUT
GOVERNMENTS NEED TO HANG BEFORE THE DYSTOPIA GETS BEYOND THE POINT IF RETURN.
GOVERNMENTS HATE US …DONT YOU SEE THAT????

  11. I don’t agree with the guy saying everything tastes the same. NYC thin crust pizza is so delicious, I could personally eat my way through NYC so many great restaurants. Boston clam chowder and real Italian food from the North End is so so good, Vermont has Ben and Jerry’s Ice cream and Cabot Cheddar cheeses paired with the best fresh baked breads. I love the good Amber natural maple syrup from New Hampshire which makes any pancake taste amazing served with maple butter. We go to Maine for a great lobster roll or better yet lobster bake. Cape Cod has the best fried oysters, clams and fresh fish. It tastes like it has jumps out of the ocean and onto your plate. There are so many great food variations out there that make a meal very special. These are small mom and pop places that have a loyal fan base. Maybe, I’m food spoiled being from New England because we can easily drive to any of these locations.

  12. LOADS of tourists here in Nova Scotia, but people are not shopping or eating out………they are busy emptying their bank accounts paying for hotel room costs.

  13. We can't afford stuff now everything is super high
Nut that's what y'all wanted. Those who voted for him an the ones that sat on their butts an didn't vote
    Thanks to you dummies

  14. Tipping culture is a major problem in America. Sometimes I make the decision to take out rather than sit at a restaurant because of a 20% expected tip. I am relatively wealthy and when I take my wife and two kids out to eat, especially sushi, my average bill is $300-400 and I get anxiety from having to leave a $60-80 tip for mediocre service or the same service at cheaper places. When we go out with friends as a few couples and our bills are $1500 and I have to leave $100 tip on our $500 share of a meal, it’s insane. So if restaurants banned tipping, they would probably outcompete their peers.

  15. Listen you can buy a large bag of frozen French fries and frozen hamburgers, buns tomatoes and cheese and lettuce for the price of a meal at a restaurant make it àt home that's what we do now

  16. I Make Delicious Burritos and Enchiladas At Home….I Eat At Restaurants Only When I'm On the Road"""""

  17. consistancey is imperitive in the restaurant business..presently and unfortunatly right now socialism has invaded America..We have labor problems..culture rot..,war mongers in Washington and the price of oil going up and down like a seesaw..so all is unstable..prices are high everywhere so who can afford to go out to eat much anymore???? DUH!!!

  18. I've said this before it's not capitalism it's the people who are trying to destroy capitalism and the American dream now this is the second time you've said this so makes me wonder are you part of that system?
Donald Trump has gone way out of his way to destroy our country. His tariffs push visitors away from America like the Canadians they no longer wanna come to our country plus they make prices outrageous for all of us what you see in this video as people don't want to go out because it's too expensive. Yes portions are small because the restaurants can't afford it anymore. Donald Trump has raised fuel prices like crazy and yes him and the big oil have done that!!! big oil has given Donald Trump a 1 BILLION dollars so yes Donald Trump is on their side 100% he's not on our side ….NO
he's on their side. making RECORD PROFITS.
him and oil company. When oil is high then shipping is high and bringing products to the store is expansive. prices are high which falls on our laps and the public.

  19. GOOD..!! I’m glad all these resistants are closing down.
This is what America voted for.
Our economy is the worst it’s been since Covid shutdowns hit (who was President then…oh yah) . Americans forgot how bad it was under Trump the first time and they put that idiot back in charge….AND LOOK AT YOU KNOW..!!
You get what you vote for.

  20. TRUMP AND REPUBLICANS WANT YOU TO GIVE UP ON THE AMERICAN DREAM.

    PUTIN CHINA TRUMP

    THIS IS NOT AMERICAN.
    ITS THE AXIS OF EVIL

  21. I went to a Jamaican restaurant I just discovered in MD and it was horrible. The beef patties wasn't orange. It was made with pie crust. The svce was bad. Some of these places should close down.

  22. If I want some actual food I'll go visit my mother, she's a chief. I don't mess with fast food places anymore, a lot of those places are full of prejudiced people.

  23. If I want some actual food I'll go visit my mother, she's a chief. I don't mess with fast food places anymore, a lot of those places are full of prejudiced people.

  24. I want to eat at that restaurant @ 2:00. The food looked nice. But when you can not afford gas for your car, groceries at the store, all types of insurance has increased, where is the extra money left over for 'from a bag' restaurant food? I had breakfast on a Saturday at a family owned place, they charged me $4.00 for a small diner sized white cup of coffee, no refill. I will not be going back there. And the coffee was a regular cup of coffee, nothing special.

  25. I paid 9$ for a paper cup of broth that was supposed to be New England clam chowder! Never again will I eat at that place!

  26. Heads up! The food quality, isn't the same. Why, because you bury your relative on Tuesday, and their body has been converted to hamburgers by Sat. 1.
    Insert: Bio-engineering.

    2. The U S economy is getting bad because of BRICS=Brazil, Russia, India, China & S. Africa's New World Order financial coalition. They have their own SWIFT SYSTEM, and 90 % of the countries have converted to and are trading with BRICS. Not the U S dollar.
    3. How does Trump hide the fact that the U S dollar is dead, by claiming he's raising tariffs. This move covers over the U S govt inability to trade the U S dollar since Saudi Arabia went the way of BRICS recently.

So now, all Trumps billionaire friends, insert BLACK-ROCK, is feeling the economic pinch world wide, and are no longer sending their declining dollars down the pike to us. Thus, businesses are now feeling the effects.
In other words, the U S immigrant CAPITALIZING govt, on American soil, is finally COLAPSING.
We indigenous copperskin Americans saw this coming from way back when. 💯🤔🤨🙄
