Fine Dining on Etihad A380 First Class Apartments

Fine dining on Etihad Airways A380 First Class Apartments, 15 hours from Abu Dhabi to Toronto.

After a few hours of sleep on my Etihad Airbus A380 First Class flight from Abu Dhabi to North America, I woke up hungry, started with a fresh espresso, and the crew offered to begin my dining experience. I wasn’t prepared for the feast that followed.

First came Osietra caviar with traditional garnishes, paired with Perrier Jouët Champagne. Next were beautifully seared scallops, incredibly tender and perfectly cooked, followed by a warm leek soup.

Before the main course, the crew served a refreshing lemon sorbet as a palate cleanser. Then came the star of the meal, a rich, spice filled lamb shank, before finishing with an indulgent hazelnut chocolate mousse cake.

What I love about Etihad First Class is how the entire meal feels paced like a restaurant rather than a traditional airline service. Presentation, timing, ingredients and especially the crew made this another memorable dining experience at 38,000 feet.

I had a similarly impressive experience last year flying Etihad A350 Business Class from Abu Dhabi to New York JFK, and once again, Etihad delivered on this 15 hour journey to Toronto Pearson International Airport, Canada.
