Have Michelin “Ignored” the UK’s Best Restaurant?
Why doesn’t one of the UK’s top-ranked restaurants have a Michelin star? 👀
Henry Harris says Bouchon Racine is the only restaurant in the National Restaurant Awards top ten without one, two or three Michelin stars — but it is not something that keeps him awake at night.
The restaurant is included in the Michelin Guide, and Henry says he is proud of that recognition.
His own theory? Michelin stars require a level of consistency and uniformity, while his cooking is deliberately more organic and instinctive.
Would a Michelin star change how you see Bouchon Racine?

I love that approach.
Wonderful.
Can't wait to come and visit.
Realistically how many people check the guides for places to eat? I'm not a foodie but I do like trying new places but does the guide power Google on food based searches?
Because it's real food. Not trendy enough.
Michelin is a laughing stock anyway
Classic cooking and none of that gastronomic bull.. i love it.
The only thing inconsistent is the reviewing.
New Zealand’s recent addition have awarded stars to restaurants that are a far cry from the level needed.
He says with his arm folded in a defensive manner, and asks himself rhetorical questions.
I’ve eaten at Bouchon Racine. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in my life, and better than the handful of Michelin star tasting menus I’ve done.
So tasty, food you just want to eat more of. No pretentious, overly decorated small plates, just things like veal steak in Roquefort sauce – who could want more. Service is great, house red is great, atmosphere isn’t pretentious at all. Shockingly reasonable prices for the calibre of food. A night with my partner we’ll both always remember.
HIGHLY recommend this to everyone for their special occasion in London meals.
The restaurant does not serve 12 course menus. That is why
I make it a point to never get my tires the same place I get my dinner.
If your food sells, it doesny matter if a tyre company pats you on the back or not.
I’d prefer your approach 💯 Obviously. Michelin are only hurting themselves these days.
The original route down to Côte d’Azur from which the guide originates, most probably cooked YOUR way besides..
Or maybe they just need to embrace products by one of Michelin's sponsors.
Henry is one of the best cooks in ten planet
Henry is a master of his trade❤
Still one of the greatest steaks I have laid my eyes on. Mastering the cuts – cote de beouf and steak au poivre. Always go back to watch it!
Honestly the Michelin star obsession with a lot of chefs these days has put me off so much 😂
