14:46 didn't know that
So wrong about the Bug-a-Salt boys! We live next to a farm and this thing is the only thing that keeps the house fly free! And it absolutely DOES kill them!
As for Bens comment about grown men with guns, does he support child armies? 😂
I recently moved into a flat and now walk to work and have seen Kush and Mike walking by! The studio is so nearby to me I was shocked when I walked past it one night as a fan of the channel (I’ve watched every single SORTED video for 5+ years- I love to watch it whilst having dinner).
As an american, let me just chime in to say, the ability to effectively utilize a firearm IS a skill, it's just not one you want your kid to need.
Eighty years ago, or one hundred sixty years ago, the skill to effectively and efficiently utilize a firearm could mean a difference in survival. No saying things won't be that way again.
14:17 Brits around "guns" are funny. Instinctually I would never hold it like that since you would never hold a real one that way.
C'mon Barry, never point a gun at anything you don't want to season!
"I don't know that this was better than just cooking it in a bowl." If only there was some way to find that out.
The bug-a-salt isn't a kitchen gadget. Be honest.
A microwave pressure cooker sounds like an absolute recipe for disaster. I'd never trust it…
The Bug-A-Salt is fantastic. If mine broke, I would immediately buy another. When you are trying to get rid of flies at a picnic or in your home it never fails. The problem comes when the fly is faster than you and your swatter. Every summer, especially when camping, we run into that problem. The Bug-A-Salt eliminates the reaction time flies have to a swatter or rolled up paper to zero. You can get close enough to hit them without inadvertently shooing them away. Also, you don't leave fly guts on anything. The only thing left behind is salt. Brilliant.
We have the optigrill and has always cooked a perfect steak
500/600 watt microwave? Is is from the 90's? I haven't seen a microwave that operates under 1000 watts in decades.
I grew up fishing in the states my whole life filleting with one of those. That's just user error. Those things are amazing.
After watching 3 full-grown mem speak that way about the bug-a-salt… its pretty obvious why Britain isnt a world power anymore. What a bunch of pathetic nancy's.
"It's not illegal, it's just naff."
You Brits truly have a colorful lexicon, eh 😂
i am agreeing with Baz. Guns (and other projectile stuff) is not automatically a bad thing. I am not even american but like to go to a shooting range to target practice. Cause its a fun thing. Like Darts.
My family keeps an electric carving knife. But we're also in the middle of USA BBQ country. (and I won't clarify in an attempt to hold off the debate). They're fantastic for cutting large hunks of meat
Tupperware, the company, made a microwave pressure cooker ten or more years ago.
The fish fillet knife is ridiculous. Period. The steak cooker, well, I have a George Foreman grill (I usually use it for paninis) and I'd rather cook my steak in that then the one you used. I don't cook a steak in in my George Foreman grill, I'm just saying I could. The salt gun is also ridiculous. And I will never, ever use a pressure cooker in the microwave. That's just begging for trouble. It was fun watching Ben's reactions though.
Normal: has been working on a cooking show for a decade
Chef: the last time they worked in a kitchen that wasn't filmed?
Ben: I don't think it's going to work.
it works
Ben: It just got lucky. I don't think it will work again.
ugh…. insufferable
wait why is the Opti Grill in there? 😮
I own one, not that elite one, but a step below it. And it is great. Personally I always take them out 1-2 minute before (based on thickness, the one in the video probably 1, if I cut them myself 2 so they rest well), somehow that works great. Tough I always use them with at least 30min outside of the fridge I dunno if that was in the manual written, I tend to darkly remember that it might.
I would suggest to maybe try it a few times it is really nice & also good for sandwiches, or wraps and stuff that u want to have roasted without flipping (to be fair, my sandwich toaster is rather meh based on the close mechanic, they can't be too high and some bigger bread doesn't fit. So by now I just use the Opti Grill for that). Tough next time I would probably just go with a more stable contact grill that lasts a lifetime. A german youtuber uses one with (I think) cast iron that just looks like if he probably can give it to his grand children, as long as the cable stays in intact
You can tell Barry and Mike know what the bug killer is really for…salt gun fights!
There must be a stereotypical joke about shooting flies with spices and UK food missing them
Lightly prick your jacket potato? I grab a fork and go full Freddy Krueger on mine! 😂 🤭
I don't think my nerves could cope with the microwave pressure cooker. 😬
The flies will be gone the minute they sense the laser focus! 😂
I have one of those electric kinves for carving a roast or a beef wellington
We bought that stupid fly gun for "fun" while we were entertaining outdoors to get rid of the flies around the food. It is useless if you have terrible aim like me. In my experience, it's a 1 out of 5.
microwaving food in plastic has the benefit of adding that yummy microplastic and nanoplastic that is now showing up in brain biopsies. That clear plastic lid you pop over your glass dish in the microwave also helps add (un)heallthy dose of plastic to your food.
I have one of these 12:03
Leave it to the Britts to be offended by a gun. Its why your country is being takin over. Anyways the Bug gun does absolutely kill flies. It only shoots out about 10 salt granules which is less than you bring in on the bottom of your shoes. Also salt is soluble so next time you clean its wiped away.
I'm just going to throw this out there. The math was wrong with the microwave pressure cooker. To make it as accurate as possible 8:20 at 600W matches total output of 10:00 at 500W.
