In Bokkapatna, Mangalore, there’s a little eatery called JK Fast Food that has been serving its neighbourhood for the last 42 years. What began as a humble cart eventually grew into the small shop it is today, where Jayanna continues to serve a loyal stream of customers every evening.
From biryani and chicken chilli to chicken pepper and mutton boti, there’s plenty to choose from. Interestingly, Jayanna prepares the food at home and brings it to the shop, where it’s ready to be served when customers begin arriving from five in the evening.
This is the sort of place that may be familiar to generations of people living nearby, yet remain undiscovered by many others in Mangalore.

Been coming here since childhood, almost 20 years now, from when it was just a cart to the shop it is today. The flavors have stayed the same all these years, which is what makes this place special. Chapathis, wings, and kebabs are newer additions, but the original taste and nostalgia are still there!
