While there is no shortage of great restaurants in the Big Easy, Commander’s Palace is definitely hands down the most iconic restaurant in New Orleans. It’s been around since 1893 and has been serving many of its staples since the beginning, such as its iconic Commander’s Palace turtle soup. While many people think of creole cuisine and cajun foods as down to earth approachable everyday food, Commander’s Palace offers fine dining creole cuisine, and I had to try it when in town!

Besides the iconic turtle soup, we tried other iconic items from the Commander’s Palace menu. We tried the quail, the gumbo, bread pudding, and all sorts of other iconic dishes. This is supposedly the best restaurant in New Orleans and often regarded as one of the best restaurants in the South in general. Is Commander’s Palace worth the hype? We’ll find out!
