Eating at Yingtao. BEST Chinese Restaurant in NYC? $165 Michelin Starred Tasting Menu

I eat at and review Yingtao in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of New York City. Yingtao is a fine dining Chinese restaurant. It’s the product of first-time restauranteur Bolun Yao and chef Jakub Baster. Within only a year of business, Yingtao was awarded a Michelin Star. Yingtao may in fact be the best Chinese restaurant in NYC. The restaurant serves an 8-course tasting menu for $165, with some optional supplements.

  1. I'm so early. I appreciate your content James. Calm , pleasant and fair reviews. Not over hyped or overly nitpicky.

  2. Just started video but know it's gonna be good! Cograts on over 100 meals at these establishments!… now let's do math lol 100 res. X an average $200 give or take per meal= $20,000 over under USD, well worth it I bet though. Glad to see your subs rising!

  3. Beautiful food served on equally stunning table ware, but frankly when in NYC not exactly the Chinese food I crave and in Hong Kong I’ll get a bowl of clay pot rice for less than half of your tip. Really enjoyed watching the presentation and your review even though would never dine there.

  4. Damn some people only have one Michelin meal once a year, my boy hit over one hundred. Congrats James, here's to many more happy/memorable meals. πŸΎπŸŽ‰

  5. WOW 😲! James 101 Michelin star ⭐ restaurants. Congratulations πŸ‘πŸ»! This was a good video and different food and that was nice. Hope you do another "fast food" place to change it up. The last time you did a pizza place was πŸ‘πŸ»

Keep up the good work πŸ‘πŸ» Take care

  6. The personalized sign was a nice touch. Gotta appreciate the little details to help take the sting out of the bill πŸ˜…

  7. Doesn't feel like Chinese food. Feels like French meal with an Asian ingredient influence.

  8. On the YANG side (you ate at the YIN side) my local Chinese "Mr Kam" is so poorly rated GrubHub Delisted them this week. They do not use ginger, sesame paste, chili oil, dried chilis, or hoison sauce. They only 'flavor" their food with watery raw garlic sauce and murky brown sauce. .,.thems eatsπŸ˜€

  9. great review as always man that bao with uni n truffle looked absolutely incredible. 🀀

  10. Yingtao has a female head chef. im sure DEI had everything to do with this restaurant getting their Michelin star in the first year

  11. I don't understand the point of huge plates and bowls for tiny portions of food. Makes it "fancy" I guess.

  12. What beautiful food! I would be happy with just the toast and the wonton soup. The old neighborhood has really changed since I lived/worked in the area many years back. I'm glad there are cool restaurants like Yingtao in the area now.

  13. Hi James ❀ Thanks for sharing this video review. Fantastic offerings… for sure. So glad we got to experience with you. This hits all the right spots. See you soon πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ₯·πŸ’«

  14. Thank You James! Always a great way to start my week with your reviews and steer me in the right direction towards tonight's dinner. Problem is that I'm not in NYC, but on Cape Cod, so seafood it is!

  15. The tasting menu is reasonably priced for a Michelin starred restaurant. The dumpling soup dish and toast looked delish! ❀

  16. Great video as always from Astoria’s very own! If you could only ever eat at one restaurant ever again for the rest of your life, what would it be?
