Hey y’all, I’m Tammy, and this is Collard Valley Cooks! In this cooking video, we’re showing you how to make the best fried onion rings you’ll ever taste, along with some delicious hamburgers from our hamburger recipe. This is one of our favorite easy recipes that’s sure to please! We even share some southern cooking videos tips for that perfect Southern touch.
Onion Rings, Best Ever!
Master Cookbook Recipe # 40
Ingredients:
1 large, sweet onion
3/4 cup milk
heaping 1/8 cup cornstarch
3/4 cup self-rising flour
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp roasted garlic powder, Bidia
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
corn oil for frying
Instructions:
Peel and slice the onion into rings. Whisk milk, cornstarch, self-rising flour, onion powder, roasted garlic powder, and cayenne pepper in a bowl until smooth. Heat the oil over medium to medium-low heat. Dip the onion rings into the batter, coating well. Fry the onion rings a few minutes on each side, until they are golden brown and the onion is tender inside. Remove with a slotted spoon or tongs, then drain off excess oil.

Tips: Keep oil at the right temperature for the best texture. Too hot will over-brown, too cool will make the rings greasy.
Separate onion slices carefully for even coating.
Drain on a wire rack for a crispy crust.
Serve immediately for crispness
