We Tried The Most Expensive Restaurant At Disneyland!
Today we’re trying something we’ve never done before: eating at the most expensive public restaurant in the Disneyland Resort. We’re headed to Napa Rose, tucked inside Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa – and it just reopened after a major refresh for the restaurant’s 25th anniversary.
With the renovation comes a brand-new menu of food, cocktails, and desserts. We’re ordering a bunch of signature dishes, digging into the drinks, and seeing what the updated experience is really like from start to finish.
But of course, the big question is the one you’re already thinking: is this Disney fine dining restaurant actually worth the price tag? Or is it too fancy for us? Come with us on this adventure!

We ran into a small filming issue because the LED lights in the beautiful grape chandelier caused a strobing effect on camera. If you notice any faint scrolling lines, that’s why. We also lowered the shutter speed to reduce it, which may add a bit of stuttery motion blur. Hopefully it’s not too distracting ☺️
This looks amazing! First of all the renovations are beautiful. If the bill was $188 per person then you got a smokin deal. We went to the Blue Bayou for new years, had the 70th anniversary pre fix menu at $89 each plus the hurricane cocktails at $20. Out the door with no tax $218, but everything was delicious. Your selections were innovative, they looked very fresh, presentation was beautiful and based on your critique quite delicious. I'm a firm believer that on the overall video the price was worth it. Thank you for sharing and gives a new place to try on our next trip. ❤😊
Thanks for the great video ! I love your nails Kitra, are they press on? Would you share the brand! Thanks
The best 😭😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
Do they have non alcoholic drinks? I don't drink, so the cocktails and wines mean nothing to me.
It's honestly not worth that price. I could get that same meal for about 90 at a top name restaurant Disney loves to over charge
PCH road trip video please!
"These cocktails inspire me to go drive around" Excellent, no notes.
My wife and I travel and eat, it's our bliss. If you ever get anxious about a fine dining experience, remember: it's all just future poo. Relax and enjoy yourself.
i live for these food and drink adventures! always best to watch while eating! 😀
Love this review. It's so much fun watching you two enjoy the food and drink! Looking forward to your review of the bar/lounge. 👏👏👏👏👏
between comparing the moistness of the food to her air fryer chicken and finding a "secret layer of caramel" like she's a treasure hunter, kitra is cracking me up on this one xD
green garlic velvet looks like veloute which is a classic french mother sauce. it consist of flour , butter, & chicken stock. this seems to have been fortified with green garlic ( young spring bulbs / stalks before they mature to the garlic we see everywhere )
Velvet? Maybe Velouté?
I love the idea of you guys doing a highway 1 trip! Ordinary Venture!
My wife and I went to Napa Rose pre-renovation for her 30th birthday. At that price per person, looks like the next time we’ll be there is for her 40th. 😂
Velvet refers to the garlic plant when it’s still premature (green, looks like a green onion)and they use it for that sauce!
Thanks for sharing- makes me want to go
This looks like a beautiful experience ❤ I love that they leaned into the California concept even more🎉 I wish they had done that with The Grand Floridian Citrico instead of weirdly half theming it Mary Poppins🤷🏻♀️ Thanks for sharing your lovely experience 💜
I love that the food was so pretty Kitra thought it was part of the plate. ❤
Great video
Great review! I've been enjoying Chef Sutton's food since the 90s (Auberge du Soleil in Napa Valley). I haven't been to NR since the remodel but it looks like a really successful move to something a bit more upscale.
You need to do the chef's counter. It is absolutely worth the (relatively reasonable) upcharge. Highly personalized and fun experience.
When they still held Taste as part of F&W fest they would give you a souvenir wine glass to go around sampling all the wines. Our tablemate fell in LOVE with that mushroom cappuccino and got tired of going back and forth for the samples so she had them fill the wine glass to the TOP and ate the WHOLE thing and got soooooo sick . We ran into her again the next day at Cove Bar and she was still green🤢. Seeing that again after all this time is very triggering…in a hilarious way 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The day Palo figures out how to make a real soufflé is the day I’ll take this review seriously 😁
Food looks yummy 😋😋😋😋
No going there. 🤑
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Peter that Admiral Akbar shirt is awesome
It looks like a beautiful restaurant, but it doesnt have the disney vibe.
Loved this! May be out of our range but also..may be something to add to bucket list 😋 When you figure out how to prepare the foods at home like they served at the restaurant, please do a Kitty’s Kitchen!!!!😎 🤗
I love how heated you both got over the deserts 😂
I’ve been to Napa Rose a couple of times – Once during the first year it opened and then a few years later for our anniversary dinner. That was back when everything was ala-crate.
Overall this all looked fantastic, but for me I just do not like a “Prix Fixe – Chief’s Tasting” menu for a variety of reasons. I get why they (and now Carthey) do this because they don’t want people coming in and just getting a single entree and nothing else at such a high-end place. But what if you can’t eat all of that, or after a great dinner want to get a nice dessert a coupe hours later somewhere else? Looks great – just not for me.
But I will say …. The prices for the cocktails for very reasonable! Heck, you can spend that much on some Food & Wine syrupy drink at one of the booths!
Got to be there Opening Night it was wonderful! ❤
My wife and I love Napa Rose. We're so glad they've reopened and look forward to eating there when we travel to California next month!
Thanks for the preview of the “new” Napa Rose. I love staying at the Grand Californian (although rooms need an upgrade). This restaurant fits well into the ambience of the hotel which has such an amazing lobby experience. It’s beautiful during the holidays. Thanks for the informative and fun videos.
Now I have to go eat our food. 😂
