In Yunnan, fruit is not only used in dishes, but also mixed with salt and chili to make a refreshing, appetizing snack. For fruits that are too sour, you can add a little sugar. For sweeter fruits, just add some dipping chili, roasted chili powder, and a tiny bit of MSG. Sour, sweet, salty, and spicy all at once — it’s the kind of flavor that makes every Yunnan person’s mouth water the moment they see it.
