How to Make Italian Style Breadcrumbs

Learn how easy and quick it is to make your own Italian style bread crumbs from plain white bread without all the unnecessary salt and MSG! It’s also much cheaper than buying it in those canister containers in the grocery store. You can use day old fresh bread, dinner rolls, extra toast from Sunday’s breakfast or even wheat bread if you want them a bit healthier. It’s all up to you!

You can use these in meatloaf, meatballs, as a coating for mozzarella sticks, jalapeno poppers, onion rings, etc. Anything that calls for breadcrumbs, you can use these for that.

What you’ll need:
6 slices plain bread
1 Tbsp Italian herbs or seasoning
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp salt

Tear up the slices of bread and place into your food processor. Add in the herbs and spices. Pulse 10-12 times or until they resemble small crumbs. Spread out onto a cookie sheet and bake in a preheated 300*F oven for 6 minutes, stirring after 3. Let cool and store in an airtight container for up to 1 month. Enjoy!
