Roly-Poly Santa Cookies

Learn how to make these cute Roly Poly Santa Cookies. Not at all difficult but these are time consuming. And actually a decent tasting finished cookie. A full recipe will yield 10 cookies (I did a half recipe here). A half recipe of frosting is plenty enough to frost 20-30 cookies.

For a true red color (not pink), I used Americolor Gel Paste Food Color in Super Red which can be found at Hobby Lobby and some JoAnn’s stores. They might also be available at Michael’s as well. If you do decide to use the normal liquid red food coloring, it will take quite a bit to achieve a deep Christmas red color.

If I were to make these again, I would make his boots black by coloring a bit of the dough black.

The following are the dough ball sizes you will need to make one cookie. The website doesn’t list the correct amounts.
White (plain dough): 1 (3/4″) ball and 5 (1/4″) balls
Red: 1 (1″) ball and 5 (1/2″) balls

For the complete recipe and step-by-step written directions, see the website I found these on: http://rock-ur-party.tablespoon.com/2011/12/12/roly-poly-santa-cookies/
