The flavors of wild greens and flowers are truly irreplaceable—fresh, sweet, crisp, tender, and absolutely delicious. At this time of year in the village, you can step outside and gather enough wild greens for a whole table. Stir-fried together with pickles from the clay jar, they become the hometown taste I miss most. Whether simmered in soup or served as a cold salad, they are already wonderfully flavorful with just the simplest seasoning.

the white rattan flowers are actually in the wisteria family, though im not sure which species specifically. ornamental wisteria blossoms can be eaten, just take care to remove all the stems as theyre toxic. also if youre not experienced i wouldnt recommend picking water celery, it looks very very similar to hemlock, which is very poisonous. be safe when foraging!
