The mountains of Yunnan are truly amazing. Even on high, dry slopes, they can grow fragrant, soft, and sticky taro. Unlike taro planted in paddy fields, mountain taro is no longer irrigated once the tubers begin to form. As the soil slowly dries out, the taro plant draws on its own moisture to nourish the young taros, making them soft, floury, and sweet. That is why it is called “milk taro.”
The best way to enjoy it is simply steamed or roasted, but it is also wonderful in soups or stir-fries. One taro can become a hundred flavors, and every way of eating it is delicious. Today, we had both sweet and savory versions.

Hi 🙂 Everyone, thank you 滇西小哥 Dianxi Xiaoge. Let me share with you two of my favorite Bible verses: When you give to the poor, it is like lending to the Lord, and the Lord will pay you back, Proverbs 19:17. Kindness shown to the poor is an act of worship, Proverbs 14:31.
Jesus said, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God." Matthew 5:9. Have you ever tried to reconcile two people?
I have tried and they are two widows who were friends since youth. It was very trying to hear how each one was hurt. While telling me, one of them was so angry that she was actually shouting at me 😮
After much prayers, I heard later that they were reconciled, all glory be to God. They phoned each other and cared for each other 🙂 One of them bought two wraps and went to meet the other, they both ate as they wished each other, "Happy New Year".
Paul said, "God, who has reconciled us to himself through Jesus, has given us the ministry of reconciliation, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. We are ambassadors for Jesus, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Jesus' behalf, be reconciled to God." 2 Corinthians 5:18-20.
Jesus said, "If you forgive others the wrongs they have done to you, your Father in heaven will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive the wrongs you have done." Matthew 6:14,15.
If God forgives and forgets for his own sake, Isaiah 43:25. Then we too forgive and forget FOR OUR OWN SAKE! This is why when someone hurts me, I do not wait for him or her to say, "Sorry." I immediately say, "I imitate you Daddy God, I forgive and I forget for my own sake, so be it in Jesus' name Hallelujah!" Only then can I rejoice again and be my Daddy God's delight 🙂 Proverbs 8:30.
