The Ronald McDonald House of Dallas (RMHD) is pleased to announce that Chef J’Montre “Trey” Wilson has recently joined the organization as the new chef. He will directly support the Meals That Heal program, helping meet the needs of families at RMHD.

Wilson has extensive culinary and food-service experience. He previously worked as a sous chef at UT Southwestern, where he helped oversee food preparation and kitchen operations for several hospital cafés. He has experience working in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards for food quality and service. He is a strong leader, organized and creative.

“I am very honored to work for such an incredible organization,” Wilson said. “Cooking and serving others have always been my passions, and I am excited to be able to pursue both as chef at the RMHD.”

He is also a certified dietary manager, bringing valuable knowledge of nutrition, food safety and specialized dietary needs. This experience helps him accommodate the diverse dietary needs of families staying at the House.

“We are so grateful that Trey has joined us here at the RMHD,” said RMHD CEO Jill Cumnock. “He is a wonderful person who has directly impacted so many families through our Meals That Heal program just in his first month here, and I look forward to seeing all of the joy he will bring to our families in the future.”

The Meals That Heal program ensures that families staying at the RMHD have access to warm meals, free of charge. With long days spent supporting children receiving medical care, having meals provided brings comfort during a difficult time. The House serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Wilson cooks the meals and works alongside volunteer groups who assist in food preparation and serving families.

“I love to see the happiness on people’s faces when they come home to a meal they love,” Wilson said. “Our volunteers have been a blessing to work with, and I am appreciative of their support in the kitchen.”

Community members and organizations are encouraged to get involved with the Meals That Heal program. Groups of 4 to 12 people can volunteer and help prepare food, serve meals and clean up afterwards. Volunteer groups will also donate the money it costs to prepare the meal. If you are unable to cook a meal in person, another option is to consider making a donation to fund a meal for a family.
