(NewsNation) — The Food Network announced its new cooking competition series starring celebrity chef Bobby Flay.
“Bobby Flay’s The Line” will feature a team of home chefs — Antonia Lofaso, Michael Jenkins and Claudette Zepeda — who go up against some of the most celebrated restaurant staff to execute a perfect dinner service, according to Variety, which first reported the news.

The diners and VIP guests being served will rate each plate, and the lines can decide whether to switch up service based on that feedback.
If the visiting team beats Flay and his home team, they will walk away with $25,000; however, if Flay’s team is victorious, they “keep their reputation.”
“I consider ‘The Line’ the project that Food Network audiences have been waiting for – it combines high-end restaurant cooking, exhilarating competition and behind-the-scenes moments in real time,” Flay told Variety.

He added, “It’s how the restaurants that we run work – and sometimes don’t. ‘The Line’ is a real-life kitchen rollercoaster that the viewer will want to be strapped in for. Seat belts everyone – the kitchen is open!”
Celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson, Pig and Khao’s Leah Cohen, Good Stuff Eatery’s Spike Mendelsohn and Kindling’s Jonathon Sawyer will appear in episodes this season, competing against Flay’s home chefs.
“Bobby Flay’s The Line” debuts Sept. 8 at 9 p.m. ET on Food Network.
